Christmas Season 2017…..

Well another Christmas has come and gone.  Spending time with family and friends, making new memories and remembering the old times and loved ones no longer here.  But most importantly not forgetting the reason for the season…Jesus’ birth.  Our Savior is THE SEASON!!.  I’m so grateful for HIs life because without His birth and purpose I would still be lost in sin.  God gave His son, Jesus, the greatest GIFT I’ve ever received and it’s the gift that keeps on giving.  So as I approach a new year, I realize how blessed I am to be in this place: forgiven, redeemed, loved, at peace and joy in my soul.  I also know my purpose in God which brings me to this message.

God gave us Him in human form so that we could have eternal life.  Well before we get to glory we all have work to do here on earth.  The message in today’s service was “I am growing.” (Luke 2:52)  The growing is not just for my benefit but others.  God has grown me to do a work so I can’t hide anymore…visibility, visibility, visibility.  God has a way of bringing HIs Word to life.  So 2018 should be the coming out party for many of us who are willing to walk in the purpose God has placed in our hearts…our growth is not in vain nor should it be contained or hidden.

2017 has been a year of great inner healing and reflection for me.  God has done so much for me personally that it just amazes me….stuff I didn’t even know or suppressed so much I couldn’t see how it was affecting and hindering my life.  But because of God’s grace, mercy and love I’m here today…THRIVING and determined to go higher in God.

The smile I now have is from way deep down within coming to the surface..only God could do that for me.  He is healing me from the inside out day by day.  Grief, depression, and self-doubt are being replaced with confidence and faith in the Almighty.

I said last year I was walking into 2017 excited about what God was going to do in my life.  Well my expectations never could have matched the healing and deliverance I’ve experienced this year.  I’m not wishing 2017 away nor am I dreading 2018.   But I am again looking forward to a New Year and more growth and blessings from God.  My Savior has my back, front and sides.  I’m his child and He has me in the palm of His hands.  I owe Him my visible best.  What will your gift to the Savior be TODAY??  DON’T WAIT UNTIL 2018…GOD IS CALLING NOW!!!

I’ll Talk to Ya in the New Year……Lord Bless!!

Peace and Blessings, ALWAYS!!!

Vision…….Purpose

We are fastly approaching Christmas 2017 and New Years 2018.  People are saying 2018 is the year of new beginnings.  Well in order to have new beginnings you better be doing something different.  Old ways don’t bring new beginnings..trust me on this one.

There is this little prophet in bible, Habakkuk who wrote “write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry. 2:2-3.”  What Habakkuk wrote wasn’t just words he thought of on his own…it was divine inspiration from God….direction and warning.  Writing the vision still applies to us today.  I believe one of the many ways we make God pleased with us is following His commands especially for our life path.  We can only know this plan by having a close relationship with the Savior.  Yes!! I’m still on my soap box about our life’s purposes and will continue to do so.

One of the ways I wrote the vision for my life was by doing a vision board earlier this year, January to be exact.  I used the time of our church’s consecration to seek God for my purpose..things I knew He had placed on my heart but I needed more confirmation and truth be told I needed courage to accept the plan.  Now, let me just say this…we should fast more than just every January…OoooKAY!!  Whenever I feel led by God to fast: drawing closer to Him, more direction for the current vision or just knowing my own craziness needs to be checked ..it’s fast time.  IJS

Anyway, the board doesn’t have to be elaborate but whatever you feel led to do is fine as long as God is giving you the content.  If you’re writing His plan, goals, dreams, and aspirations..who can’t go wrong.  I used a simple white card stock board and colored pens….and wrote what God gave me.  I placed it on a wall in my bedroom where I could see it daily.  I read it, prayed about it and let God lead me to implement and/or accept things as they occured.  What I can tell you is that most of the things God gave me to place on the vision board have come to past or they have started to manifest in the earliest form.  WOW!!  My surprise factor is because God is soooo AMAZING AND FAITHFUL TO FULFILL HIS WORD….blows my mind!!!

I encourage each and every person reading this blog to give Jesus the ultimate Christmas gift…your life, time, vision, dreams, goals, and plans.  Find out what your 2018 should look like from the Master life changer, restorer of time, goal-setter, visionary, event planner and dreammaker….I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Peace and blessings, Always!!

Straight to the Point….

My shortest post EVER….LOL

Trailblazer….the first person to do something or go somewhere; who shows that it is also possible for other people to rise above their situations.

Since God made each of us uniquely different we all have the potential to become trailblazers.  NO one can do what I do or what you do…it’s God-designed.  If we would just seek Him, do our appointed life’s work, leave the shame and competition behind and tell our testimony,  just think of how many God-destined trails would be paved for people to be healed, delivered, and set free from sin.

Just something to think about…but not for too long…GET MOVING!!!

Peace and Blessings, Always!!

Are You Blazing God’s Trail?…..

In my last post I talked about being a trailblazer in this life God has blessed us with.  You may be wondering just what exactly is a trailblazer.  How do you know the trail your on is the right one and how not to get prideful because you are standing apart?  I’ve been the first in several areas in my life especially in my career.  First asthma educator in my department and first respiratory therapist case manager.  Oftentimes I felt insecure about my blessings because it was putting me front and center…drawing attention to me that I wasn’t comfortable with.  But I often remember my Mother’s voice and words telling me “to whom much is given much is required.”  I never completely understood those words but I knew it was scriptural…that really made it even more scary.  I’m grateful for my accomplishments but apprehensive at the same time.  I always tell myself I like being in the background but something always keeps pushing me forward.

My purpose in blogging is always going to be to inspire and encourage you to seek your purpose in God.  The following tips blessed me and I know if you have a heart after God’s will and plan for your life, you will be blessed also.  God is always faithful to give us the guidance we need to do His work in the earth.  I’m coming to realize my experiences in life make me unique and God uses that to His advantage.  My twists on things is just that, my twist, my niche and that is what makes my trail blaze.

In Purpose Awakening, Mr. Roberts gives five key qualities of a trailblazer:

  1. Trailblazers aren’t afraid to be the first one.  We lead and seize every opportunity to make a difference, even if it involves doing the never been seen before.
  2. Trailblazers stay in their God lane.  We may have been exposed to many lanes, good or bad but the important thing is are you on the lane God chose for you.  That’s where obedience and true purpose come through.  Be focused and intentional with what God has ordered you to do.
  3. Trailblazers don’t compare themselves to others.  Nothing really needs to be said about this other than comparison in my opinion leads to death… be and see who God says you are..that’s it.  Mr Roberts says “the only thing a trailblazer measures themselves by is their faithfulness in blazing the trail that they have been assigned to.”
  4. Trailblazers sacrifice for others.  The God trail your on is not for you but for others.  You are here to assist and draw others to God’s love, grace, mercy, and salvation.  Trailblazers acknowledge God’s dream for their lives trumps their own and therefore they make God’s dream theirs.  NO selfishness and prideful spirits in a Godly trailblazer.
  5. Trailblazers are not afraid to be alone…..WOW!!  They understand that their calling is to pave the way for others, not necessarily to pave the way with others.  This can be a hard concept…I know personally.  But it’s all good…God is always with me anyway.  As a trailblazer, you can’t expect people to see what you see in the beginning or feel discouraged if you are left alone on your new trail…God is there!!  Make sure that you are committed to the trail, and the fruit of your efforts will pay off.

God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in us……..as we obey, seek and submit to Him.  Let’s get to blazing some trails..people are counting on US!!

Peace and Blessing, Always

I crack me UP!!

When I first got saved all I wanted to do was go to church, sit in the chair, hear the Word and COME HOME!  I was not trying to be in nobodies ministry.  I even told the Pastor this…yes I did!!  I know, I need Jesus…that’s why I’m saved, LOLOL.  But how many of you know our plans our not God’s plans.  I must admit I was ignorant to the idea of service.  It also didn’t help matters that I was led to and saved in a small church.  There is no hiding in a small church.  People recognize you even when you don’t want to be recognized.  It all turned out for my good AND growth if I must say so myself.  We are a loving bunch of Christians trying to live a Christ-like life.

In order to live a Christ-like life, you must have a heart to serve.  Serve in whatever capacity God places on your heart…not man.  That’s where your purpose starts to manifest.  This year has been a manifestation of many great things from God.  I’m in awe of His majesty and how things come together.  I have realized the main part of serving is to have a deep and committed relationship with God.  You can’t make it without His guidance.  He has prepared me for many a thing just because I choose to choose Him daily.  I thank the Holy Spirit for being with me so that I can make that choice.

So in the words of Toure’ Roberts, author of Purpose Awakening, “In order to bridge the gap between your purpose and the world that is awaiting it, you will have to become a trailblazer.  God has a preordained trail just for you/me.  You are a trailblazer. No one else is qualified or called to do what you are specifically designed to do.”  No ministry is insignificant in Christ..we all have a part to advance the Kingdom.  I said Kingdom not man!!

So I’m not or can’t just sit in the chair and do nothing.  That’s called being disobedient to God which is a sin.  God gave me a TESTIMONY, a voice, a sense of humor, wit, goofiness, quirks, love, and compassion to draw others to His kingdom.  How dare I sit down when He has done sooo much for me.  How dare I sit down when He is the CREATOR OF ALL, MY LIFE SOURCE.  We have to share His LOVE!!!  Don’t sit down BE the TRAILBLAZER GOD WANTS YOU TO BE…HE’LL MAKE IT WORTH YOUR LIFE LIVING!!

Peace and blessings, ALWAYS!!

Quiet Time……

HAPPY SUNDAY MY CYBER PEEPS!!!  It’s an amazing experience to hear God speaking to you, you recognize His voice and every Word you hear after that is aligned with what you initially heard….WOW WOW WOW!!!!!

I have times of quiet with God and one of the most common places is in my car.  Whether I’m driving to work, church, home, or play…it’s OUR time.  No music just me and God on the road.  Well this morning on my way to prayer I was just thinking over things, talking to God and at some point I had to stop and listen.  Whatever we go through in life with Christ their is a purpose….to draw us closer to the Savior.  I’m learning this daily.   God’s correction is loving and for our good.

The Holy Spirit brought several things to my mind.  Spiritural Maturity-when you realize how much you have grown, you’re not what you used to be but not what you’re going to be in God.  Spiritual maturity is looking forward to the journey even if it is challenging and painful at times.  God does the maturing in us with love, grace and mercy.  He is always with me..leading and guiding me.  I just need to obey and follow…how simple is that..LOL.  Spiritual maturity is realizing how much you have grown and how much you still need to grow…..and welcome it…because it’s all for my good and HIs glory.

Then I said “Well, Lord, I need more of the fruit of the Spirit in my life.”  The only way I’ll receive or exhibit this fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is by submitting to God’s will through His Word.  You see, change and maturation starts with you or should I say me first.  In this sense, Yes, IT”S ALL ABOUT ME!!  If I want to be what and who God has chosen me to be then self-evaluation (Holy Spirit will show you yourself), repentance, maturity, and submission go hand in hand.

Unity…when the intercessors, Sunday school teachers, and Pastors’ all saying what God said: we meaning Christians must have a repenting heart, pray and seek God..always.  It starts with me/you…we are to be atmosphere changers….I want my atmosphere to look like God is in control…fruitful and prosperous.  Lives are at stake including mines.

PEACE, BLESSINGS AND LOVE!!!

STILL ON KHAOS MINDSET……

KHAOS…keep healing and overcoming struggles!!!  Yes, I’m still a work in progress with changing my mindset.  I realize everyday that I can’t change on my own and how I react to life situations requires a HIGHER POWER…THE TRINITY!!!  If you know me personally, you can probably see my face and hear the tone of voice I’m using…LOLOL..just being REAL!!

In my KHAOS book, the author states, “when you GROW through something you have the ability to process what happens, process through the pain, and walk away with the lessons and experiences.”  This mindset is called being active in your life…not a victim but victor.  We are to be participants in our lives and not spectators.  So I’m choosing to allow the Holy Spirit to help me be a victor in my life.  Self help books are good but my addition to any self help book or devotional is to add the Word.  The Word is what I strive to live by because I know that is the only thing that can help this child of God!!  FOR REAL!!

Because God is my guide I can be an active participant in the learning, growing, maturing, conforming and transforming processes.  Yes!!! I often think haven’t I been transformed enuf? When does the cycle of growth end?  Am I in that big of need of changing?  The only answers I come up with are NO, NEVER, YES….sometimes a hard pill to swallow. (I’m rolling my eyes…really hard) haha

II Corinthians 3:16-18…Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.  Now the Lord is a Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

So let the life of active growth continue IN GOD!!  PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL!!!
